Rachel Thomas is a fine art photographer who’s practice primarily focuses on creating black and white images through digital and darkroom processes. She most recently won a Spotlight Award in the 2025 Portfolio Contest where her photographs will be featured in a 4 page spread in the Black & White Magazine June 2026 issue and a Merit Award in the Black & White Magazine July 2026 issue. She has won 1st place awards and her work has been exhibited at Cape Fear Studio, VAE Raleigh, Oak Park Art League, and Scholastic Art. She is currently a BFA candidate at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is working towards her MFA to pursue her dream of becoming a photography instructor and help others on their journey as artists.
